The Stray Dog Story...... by Brielle Murray
Dear Family and Friends,
We have not sent an update in a while, primarily because Brielle has been handling her Chemo and Radiation treatments at CHOC very well. This is no small thing, and we praise God for His grace and mercy on Brielle, and thank all of you for your prayers for her. You are a great part of her healing, and we are so grateful for you. Brielle will finish this portion of her treatments this Friday, and SHE WILL BE ABLE TO START SCHOOL ON TUESDAY, after the Labor Day holiday! She is very excited to be able to be back in school with all her friends. Please pray for her emotions, as her appearance has changed and she has lost some of her hair behind her right ear, due to the radiation in that area.
The Stray Dog Story...... by Brielle Murray
Dear Family and Friends,
It has been a very long time since I wrote last. Well on Friday night we were having some friends come over for dinner and to swim, and all of the sudden two little fluffy white dogs that were all dirty and skinny and had mats in their fur run in and they don't have any collars on. Everyone was at our house so I just put them in the office with a bowl of water and a little bowl of dog food. A little later we went out front to look for their owner and we saw this young girl about 20, I think, so we went up to her and asked are these your dogs? "Where are they?" she asked. So we brought her to our house so she could pick up the dogs but they did not want to leave. We asked her about the dogs and she said that her mom found them roaming the streets in Corona, and that her mom gave them to her to try to find homes for them. So she took the dogs and went home across the street from our house. The next morning when we woke up and opened the front door again, the two little fluffy dogs ran right in our house. We really liked them and were thinking about keeping them. Kylin was swimming in the pool and all the sudden both dogs jump into the pool and start swimming! So we gave them a bath with the hose and but some dog shampoo on them. And when they dried we brushed them out and oh-my-gosh... they are the sweetest little things ever they just let us do anything with them they just loved to be brushed. So we got them a little cleaner than they were before but they still needed a better grooming though. So we decided that they could stay with us and that they found a home! So, a couple hours latter they were outside and they got a little to curious and slid down the water slide twice! So they were all wet again. The next morning we took them to the vet and had them get their shots and they did a test for round worms and it came back positive. So the vet gave us some medicine to give them at home that would kill the worms. We named one Boatie and the other Coconut. Boatie is a boy and Coconut is a girl. They are brother and sister and love each other so so so so so so so much! they don't leave each others side and sleep together and do everything together. When we got home we tried to feed them but Coconut would not eat but Boatie would. Coconut is a lot skinnier than Boatie is......................................
I am writing this on Papa's computer while we are at CHOC for my Chemo and..... My dad called me to say that he just got off the phone with my mom, and he gave me the most horrible news ever! Coco nut is really sick with Parvo, and I mean really really sick! She hasn't eaten in 3 days she is not moving and is throwing up blood and going poopie blood. But the most gross part is that when she does that worms huge fat worms come out. My mom took her back to the vet and she has Parvo it is not curable so she had to be put to sleep. Now her brother boatie could have it and we need lots and lots of prayer that he does not have it and even if he does not have it we have to get rid of him cause since he has been exposed to it he could get it later on. If we take him to a shelter he could give it to all the dogs there so we don't know what we are going to do with him. But the most horrible thing of all is that now Faith has been exposed to it and there is a chance she could get it. So we have to clean our house completely and have faith stay at another house for a couple of days. So pray that she does not get it and that all the other dogs that Coconut and Boatie has been around don't get it. Parvo is like the flue for people it is so so so so contagious so any dogs who have even sniffed Coconut have been exposed. So please pray that faith does not get it.
Everyone in the Murray household was so saddened as Coconut had to be put to sleep because of having Parvo. Today, the Murray's home is being cleaned from top to bottom, in an effort to insure that Faith and Boatie do not contract the disease as well. Faith and Boatie must be separated for the next 7 to 10 days, as the Parvo disease, if contracted, will appear during this period. Please pray especially for Faith, as this would be devastating for the family. Please pray too for Kylin and Jaden, as Coconut was to be Kylin's dog, and she is very sad.
In His Care,
